They operate in one of the most competitive travel markets in India — where platforms like MakeMyTrip, RedBus, Ola, Savaari, and OneWayCab already dominate search results and customer attention.

The Starting Point (Before SEO)

When the project began, RCabs’ website was almost invisible on Google. The website had negligible organic traffic, very few keywords were indexed, and there were no meaningful impressions inside Google Search Console. Core service pages were weak and not conversion-optimized, there was no structured pricing or clear service positioning, and the contact forms were not optimized. On top of that, no local SEO foundation existed at all.

In simple terms, RCabs was running a real business — but Google didn’t know it.


The Market Reality We Were Facing

This was not a small-competition niche. RCabs was trying to rank in a market where MakeMyTrip, RedBus, Ola, Savaari, and OneWayCab were already holding the top positions with huge budgets, massive brand authority, and thousands of backlinks.

For a regional cab business, competing head-to-head for keywords like “Cab from Pune to Mumbai” or “Car rental Maharashtra” would take years, not months. So we made a strategic decision.


Our SEO Strategy Philosophy

Instead of chasing big brands in their strongest battleground, we built RCabs a private highway inside Google. The goal was simple: start generating calls and bookings fast, then scale into larger keywords once revenue starts flowing.

This meant avoiding high-authority national keywords at the beginning, focusing on local intent and transactional searches, and turning RCabs into a local booking engine.


Phase 1 — Full Website & Market Audit

We did not start with backlinks or blogs. We started with reality. Our team performed a complete technical SEO audit, full content audit, backlink profile review, competitor and market analysis, and conversion flow analysis.

Then we fixed technical SEO issues, indexing problems, page structure, contact forms, and broken flows. At the same time, we restructured the main service pages by adding real service descriptions, pricing structure, one-way and round-trip details, cab photos, travel information, and trust elements. This turned RCabs from a basic website into a sellable digital product.


Phase 2 — Foundation Content & Blog Layer

Once the website was stable, we ran a controlled content push that included supporting blogs, service-related informational content, and search-friendly internal linking. This ran for about 1.5 months to give Google enough signals that RCabs was a legitimate travel brand.


Phase 3 — The Local SEO Pivot That Changed Everything

This was the turning point. After analyzing the market, we realized that competing with MakeMyTrip for “Pune to Mumbai Cab” would take time. But people don’t only search like that.

They search like Baner to Mumbai cab, Hinjewadi to Pune airport, Wakad to Shirdi cab, and Hadapsar to Mumbai taxi. So instead of fighting giants, we built thousands of micro-markets.

We shifted focus to Google My Business optimization, local SEO, area-based keywords, and city-to-city travel routes. We fully optimized RCabs’ GMB listing, generated and managed real customer reviews, built local citations, submitted Pune-based business listings, and strengthened local trust signals.

Within three months, RCabs started receiving real calls, real booking inquiries, and real revenue from organic search. This validated the strategy.


Phase 4 — The 1,000+ Keyword Expansion System

Once cash flow started, we went aggressive. We created a location-to-city SEO framework using routes like Baner to Mumbai Cab, Wakad to Mumbai Airport Cab, Kothrud to Mumbai Cab, and Viman Nagar to Mumbai Cab.

We mapped local areas of Pune, local areas of Mumbai, and other Maharashtra cities, then paired them with major travel destinations. This gave us more than 1,000 high-intent keywords, each with purchase intent.

We built dedicated landing pages, optimized internal linking, created city-area SEO silos, and designed conversion-focused layouts. Month after month, rankings improved. The entire strategy was designed and executed under the leadership of Aniket Sunel, Senior SEO Strategist and Project Manager at SERP Monsters. With more than six years of hands-on experience in competitive local SEO and multi-location ranking systems, Aniket and his team evaluated the market realities, budget limitations, and competition before deciding on a local-first growth model for RCabs.


Final Results

RCabs is now one of the strongest organic cab brands in Maharashtra. The website has more than 1,000 keywords ranking in the Top 3, over 1,000 monthly organic visitors, more than 100,000 monthly impressions, and consistent inbound booking inquiries.

Challenges and How We Solved Them

RCabs faced extremely high competition from national brands, very low starting authority, no initial traffic or brand trust, a limited marketing budget, and a need for fast ROI rather than long-term promises.

We solved this by avoiding head-on competition with giants, building a local-first SEO engine, creating more than 1,000 buyer-intent micro-keywords, using GMB and citations to drive fast leads, and turning the website into a conversion machine.

This was not luck.
